I love the aura of reverence you gave the crew. How often do we go in our own lives to our own gardens in a never ending conversation with our plants? We end up on bended knees, seeking answers to questions: solutions to problems. I have experimented in my garden and learned to make decisions or be over-run. I have learned that some things will end up as I planned and others will be quite contrary to any expectations. But never is activity in the garden a waste. Even when a plant dies from my not listening to its needs as it is established, its composted remains contribute to the future health of my little ecosystem.

Yes, Dee, you need to read up on Paula. She doesn’t have a blog (she is resisting…she is the type of classical writer who eschews email and writes thank you notes with an ink pen!….) Paula has some wonderful essays on her website, paulapanich.com.
And about the RSS feed. I need to ask the Wizard how to do that. My web wizard Bob, whose company is aptly named Cultivate Design! Stay tuned.

Isn’t Paula the gardener/writer you told me about while we were at the tree farm?

Girl, you are a very creative garden writer. I’ve written fiction and nonfiction, but I think gardening itself lends us to creativity. I like your foray into fiction. Hang onto it and see if more develops.

BTW, I would really like to subscribe to your blog. Are you going to add an RSS feed or some buttons. I have both on my blog if you’d like to see.

Oh boy oh boy oh boy. I know you are onto something. The last two paragraphs are very powerful. I especially love the part of the curved hedges under the noon day sun. And then again at night.

Paula’s comment about approaching your work with reverence has me sitting up and paying attention.

You accomplished three very valuable things in this post: introduced the wonderful Paula to other writers, gave us another way of looking at gardens – and you brought reverence and meditation to the table.
