Thank you for the lovely comment you left about my "roots" post. I'm glad that you are feeling more at home in your new space. It would be an adventure to move to a totally different clime. I have a great friend, who at 68, decided to move to Washington State from OK. She wanted to be near her grandchildren, but even more, she told me she wanted to garden where it was cool, refreshing instead of blazing hot and humid. She figured she had ten more good gardening years, and she wanted to be comfortable. I remember thinking that after gardening here for 40 years, she would have such a difficult time, but she hasn't. She's treating it all like a new adventure. I told her I thought she was bored here. My, that was rambling for sure.~~Dee

I'm glad you're putting down roots. And that sounds like a way cool singing waiter dinner!

Debra, I can so relate. I was in Marin County for nearly 35 years. I often thought I would move to Seattle area, until I found they are as bound to faults (as in earthquakes) as we! The path led me away at last to The South, and then to
The Desert, but here I am back in the area closest to my heart. I think it's really hard to say what makes for a successful transplant. A loving husband helps, I am certain of that! Openness, willingness, the right stuff. Sounds like you've got it all working in the right direction. We look forward to hearing of your adventures!
